Scott Consulting Partners is an expansion of the woman-owned, small business consulting firm founded in 1999 by Sheryl Scott.
Sheryl Scott
Sheryl Scott (who goes by Sheri) has a Masters degree from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, and over 20 years of experience working with diverse communities. Sheri has made dozens of presentations at public health and evaluation conferences in the United States and Puerto Rico. She is a member of the American Public Health Association, and Society for Public Health Education, as well as a member of the Independent Consulting and Indigenous Evaluation Topical Interest Groups of the American Evaluation Association. She serves as a peer reviewer for the professional journals, Health Promotion Practice and American Journal of Evaluation.
After 20 years, Sheri is still amazed at the dedication and talent she encounters in her work with public health agencies, tribal Nations and non-profits. In her “off the clock” time, Sheri enjoys working on prairie restoration, wandering in the woods, and collecting wild foods.
Lannesse Baker
In 2009, Scott Consulting Partners welcomed the addition of a talented associate, Lannesse Baker, who serves as the Project Director for the Tribal Tobacco Education and Policy Evaluation, funded by ClearWay MN to work with tribes in Minnesota.
Lannesse is a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Anishinaabe (Chippewa) from North Dakota and she also has family from the Fond du Lac Reservation in Minnesota. She completed a Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota, and began working on tobacco control as a Research Assistant for the American Indian Community Tobacco Projects at the University of Minnesota in 2005. Lannesse has focused her efforts on understanding and writing about the historical, social, and health issues of American Indian communities, including tobacco control and policy.
In her free time, Lannesse enjoys traveling, coffee shops, used bookstores, jingle dress dancing, and volleyball leagues.
Leigh Welper
Leigh Welper is our database and software designer. She has developed numerous creative and user friendly tools that help programs evaluate their strengths and address their challenges. Leigh has the capacity to bring even the most “data-resistant” agencies into the fold of using data for program improvement. One of her evaluation data collection systems for a state public health department has been in use for ten years.
Associates
In addition, Scott Consulting Partners draws on a network of talented associates who specialize in curriculum development, technical assistance, cultural diversity, policy analysis and participatory research.
